The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) is the leading disability research organization of the federal government. The mission of NIDILRR is to generate new knowledge and to promote its effective use to improve the opportunities of individuals with disabilities to perform activities of their choice in the community. NIDILRR also aims to expand the capacity of society to provide full opportunities and accommodations for individuals with disabilities. NIDILRR is part of the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Department of Health and Human Services.
