  • National ADA Symposium
    Organized by the Great Plains ADA Center, this annual training event covers a range of topics, including employment, accessible design, state and local government issues, business and disability, accessible technology, transportation, and recreation. Sessions are presented by nationally recognized experts including representatives from the federal agencies that implement the ADA: the U.S. Access Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

    A comprehensive self-paced web course designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of the core concepts about the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA). The web course will help you to learn about the important concepts of the ADA and to think about inclusive solutions for people with disabilities in the workplace, state and local government programs, and private businesses.
    A Spanish version of the course is also available.

ADA Title II and Web Accessibility

As part of the final rule on ADA Title II Web and Mobile App Accessibility, the Department of Justice published a Small Entity Compliance Guide. This guide helps people who work for or with state or local governments understand the final rule requirements for the accessibility of web content and mobile applications. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.1, Level AA is the technical standard for state and local governments’ web content and mobile apps.
