Anne-Marie Nelson, MS, CRC earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the field of Human Services with a minor in Substance Abuse. While in her undergraduate studies, she completed an internship at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and realized that helping people with disabilities live productive lives was her passion. She went on for her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation with an emphasis in both Rehabilitation Counseling and Vocational Evaluation in pursuit of this goal. After graduating with her master’s degree, she worked in the private-non-profit sector for a couple of years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and then managing the Vocational Evaluation Department at the Milwaukee Center For Independence. Ms. Nelson worked for the State of Wisconsin, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation prior to coming to the VA in October of 2000 to start up the Compensated Work Therapy-Transitional Residence (CWT-TR) Program in Milwaukee, WI. In November of 2014, she took over as the Program Manager, overseeing both the Vocational Rehabilitation Service and CWT-TR Programs. Recently, she has accepted a position in VHA Vocational Rehabilitation Service Central Office. Ms. Nelson resides in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin with her husband and two children.
